One of them was I tried to use illustrator and struggled with the user interface (UI), this was because I lacked experience. Because of this I was tempted to keep trying and see if I could get better with the software, however due to the cost of adobe software in general, I didn't want to risk this and instead decided to use photoshop (which I already own).
I still see the appeal of illustrator as I like the ability to draw anything and have it smoothen out the drawings due to them being vector graphics, instead of raster which can become pixilated when zoomed up close.
This means that illustrator is very effective when it comes to image manipulation, instead of an ok job of upscaling the pictures, it redraws the line/drawing and makes it the correct resolution.
Evaluation
Type of structure I used was linear, this means to go from one point to another, explaining a story from point a to point b, one beginning, a middle and an end. The component I used was motivations, being the protagonist wants to be well known and wealthy through his own selfish greed and actions.
I created the images by using photoshop, and by using photoshop I went completely hand-drawn with a mouse, due to this some of my drawings look a little shaky but also smooth at the same time. This gives my drawings a more authentic feel.
I aimed it at males and females alike, I feel the colour palette is varied enough to be appealing to both genders, I also feel that the sexuality, social groups and religions shouldn't be offended by anything involved in what I've included in this.
For context I haven't used much, all technology is fictional and doesn't represent anything in the current day given the futuristic setting. I wanted the characters to feel relatable and realistic whilst making the setting abnormal and not something we are used to. The designs of the characters are very present of this and aren't something easily identifiable, this is what I wanted to have as a visual.
I plan to add more of a political aspect as the main people pulling the strings are the higher ups in the government and such, much like the film 'V for Vendetta', a film which inspired me greatly for this novel. It also involves a masked protagonist, but this time I am making him a more corrupt, reckless but idealistic person.
Feedback is here:
As you can, Aimee has claimed my beginning was promising and I agree, the opening helps you understand the character from the first panel and on wards. I also agree that two of my pages could've been coloured, however, due to photoshop and it's layer system it became a time constraint to work around.
